Years 10-11

In order to meet the needs, interests and aspirations of individual students in Years 10 and 11, the core of compulsory courses is reduced; choice and diversity are expanded. All students continue to study English, maths, science, PE, Personal Development and choices from the EBacc suite of subjects. In addition there is a wide range of GCSEs, vocational and applied options such as BTEC.

Coursework and Controlled Assessment

Coursework can form a large part of the assessment for some GCSE and vocational subjects.  Understanding what help you are allowed to provide can be problematic.  The JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) have published some guidelines that help students (and their parents and carers) to understand the rules for the completion of coursework, and other exam-related topics.  Click here for more information.
