Before half term, Year 12 Geographers were out on Burbage Moor and in Bakewell in preparation for their A-level NEA (Non-Examined Assessment).

On Burbage Moor, students investigated the role peat and moorland play in the global carbon and water cycles and how the cycles help to mitigate the effects of climate change and create our local ecosystems.

In Bakewell, students collected evidence of recent change in the town and evaluated the impact of these changes on people and the local environment.

The A-level Geographers will now develop their own research question to investigate and complete a report during the summer and autumn term, which is worth 20% of their final A-level grade.
