Recently, 24 of our Year 7 students took part in a World Cup for Languages event with 15 students from S Anselm’s school. Teams of students from both schools joined teams from the host nations and the countries of the languages taught in school (USA, Canada, Mexico, France, Germany and Spain). Students completed challenges such as ‘Where in the World Cup?’, using atlas skills to find the participating nations and map them in three languages, and our World Cup Quiz.
Team USA was victorious in the end, winning by an impressive 3 ‘goals’ over 4 competition rounds.
It was great to see our students and S Anselm’s students working so well together in a very enjoyable session.
