We are delighted that in our recent inspection the inspectors found that students at Lady Manners School ‘enjoy attending this welcoming and caring school’. The report noted that the school has ‘high expectations’ and that our students ‘behave well in lessons and at social times’. Inspectors found that ‘students in the sixth form have excellent attitudes to their learning’.
The report finds our curriculum to be ‘broad and ambitious’, with a wide range of vocational and academic qualifications that ‘meet the needs of pupils’. Most students, including disadvantaged students, ‘make excellent progress through the curriculum’ and ‘students in the Sixth Form achieve exceptionally well’.
We are thrilled that inspectors found that ‘the school’s work to promote broader development is exemplary’. The inspectors said that students enjoy taking part in the wide range of extra-curricular activities to develop their interests and talents, including Duke of Edinburgh, farming club, drama and zoo keepers club. Our careers advice was highlighted as an area of excellence, with students receiving regular and informative guidance from Year 7 onwards.
The report also highlights the ‘positive relationships’ between students and staff and that students ‘appreciate the support they receive for their mental health and well-being’. It notes that our students ‘know how to treat others, however different from them, with respect’ and that our students have an impressive knowledge of the importance of British values and equality. This demonstrates the importance we place on our core school values ‘aspire, thrive and include’.
The recommended actions are being addressed swiftly and decisively. Our determination and drive to improve has not diminished. We will ensure that our students continue to thrive within our inclusive and aspirational learning environment.

Parent View
At Lady Manners School we believe that having an understanding of how parents and carers feel about their children’s life at school is vital for our ongoing programme of improvements. For this reason, we encourage parents and carers to let us have their feedback by completing a questionnaire when they attend parents’ evenings.
When Ofsted inspect a school they take into account the views of parents and carers when making their judgements. They do this through use of a similar online survey also called ‘Parent View’.
