This week was National Careers Week, which we celebrated by welcoming employers from a wide range of industries to take part in our Careers Cafés at lunchtimes. Over 100 students chose to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity and came along to meet employers including a: Civil Servant from the DWP, University Professor of Sheffield Energy Institute, Divorce Law Solicitor, Financial Consultant, Senior Investment Assistant working in asset management, Deputy Care Home Manager, Company Director of Tractor Spare Parts, Director of People from a market leader in sports clothing and accessories, Sales Office Team from refractories and minerals and the Head of AI and Technologies for a global clean energy company.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the employers who kindly gave up their time to support the events during the week. There was a real buzz about the place and employers commented on how mature and well considered student questions were. One employer said, “I found the experience very rewarding and the students were lovely, all very pleasant, and truly a breath of fresh air!”.
