Over the last year, 22 Year 12 and Year 10 physics students have been taking part in a range of research projects offered by the Institute for Research in Schools (IRIS).  These projects have included analysing data from the Spitzer Space telescope, interpreting particle collisions from the Large Hadron Collider and using satellite data to monitor the effects of climate change.

Recently, these students went to a science conference in Manchester to present their research posters.  One Year 12 group was selected to speak at the conference, where they explained their research on the Urban Heat Island effect in Tokyo to an audience of around 300.

All the students did a brilliant job communicating their excellent work and we are very proud of them.
