I was born and educated in Derbyshire. After leaving school I attended York University where I graduated with a BA degree in Mathematics and Education.

After attaining my Post Graduate Certificate in Education I started my teaching career at Ernest Bailey Grammar school in Matlock. Following reorganisation in Matlock I then taught at Highfields School taking on both curricular and pastoral responsibilities. In 1989 I was appointed as Deputy Head teacher at Lady Manners School. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in this role and the opportunity to work in such a vibrant, caring community.

Following retirement I joined the Governing Body in 2013 and took on the role of Vice Chair in 2020. I feel very privileged to be able to continue my long association with the school and supporting its further development.
