I joined the Lady Manners School Governing Board as a Parent Governor in November 2017, served as Vice Chair from early 2020 and was elected to Chair of Governors in September 2020. I was previously a governor at a local primary school and I am currently also a trustee at a multi-academy trust in Sheffield. From 2021-23 I was designated as a National Leader of Governance by the Department for Education (DfE) and am now a consultant and trainer for the National Governance Association providing targeted support to schools and trusts with governance challenges.

My background is in higher education and international development. I spent twenty years as an academic at the Department of Geography, University of Sheffield specialising in social policy and environmental change. After leaving the university in 2017, I provided strategic to an international development charity, and developed my career in school and trust governance consultancy.

I am keen to promote good relations between the Governing Board and parents and would like to contribute to ensuring that our school continues to strive to be a creative and enjoyable place for our children to learn. I feel strongly that state education should deliver a brilliant education for all children.
