Oliver Hiles, Market Manager from Bagshaws, visited the farming club last week.  Oliver described his role at Bakewell Market at the Agricultural Business Centre and explained what happens each week at the livestock sales.

It was a fascinating and interesting talk and gave students an insight into the workings of a busy livestock market.

Also, Charlie – a member of our farming club, had a very exciting visitor to his farm this month.  The farm’s herd of Belted Galloways featured in the BBC’s edition of Countryfile on Sunday 19 April.  Charlie had a chance to meet the crew and talked to the presenter, Adam Henson.

Adam kindly made a video for our farming club and we are extremely excited with the message he sent us in support of the opportunities the club is offering our students.
