It has been another busy week for members of the farming club.

On Tuesday, they took part in a live Zoom meeting with YouTuber Olly Harrison. Olly gave a presentation about his experience in farming and how he shares his experiences of farming with his thousands of followers on YouTube.  Students were fascinated to hear about his experiences and charity work and asked questions about Olly’s farming business in Liverpool.  A fantastic opportunity!

On Thursday, students enjoyed a presentation from Robbie Carnegie from Moors for the Future. Robbie shared his experience of the important work the group does to restore the peat of the Peak District moorlands.  Students enjoyed learning about the conservation work taking place and were able to use their knowledge of our local environment to ask some insightful questions.  Many thanks to Robbie and Moors for the Future for your visit – a great learning experience.

Thank you to our friends from Bakewell Farming Life Centre for their help in setting up these visits.
