On Friday, 11 teams from 7 different schools came to Lady Manners School to take part in the Business Language Champions’ ‘International Space Challenge’ event. This cross-curricular, STEM and languages event involved teams designing, modelling and presenting an international space hotel. Budgets were decided and supplies were purchased in French, German or Spanish, so that teams could build their models. Data sheets were created and presented in English and marketing presentations were given in the language the students study.
The teams had a fantastic day learning team-work, planning and presenting skills, as well as taking part in a Russian taster session at the end of the day – a language that is important for space travel!
Both Lady Manners’ teams performed really well on the day, achieving special prizes for language use and perseverance, and the French team were awarded the overall runner up prize.
Well done to all involved!
