As part of our careers programme, Year 8 students welcomed Andrew Critchlow from the National Farmers Union to their assembly last week.  Andrew gave an excellent, informative presentation to students about farming and the environment and the wide range of careers that have a link with farming and agriculture.

Many thanks to Andrew for visiting us and sharing his expertise with our students.

Also, PCSO Spencer Nixon from the Rural Crime Team visited the farming club last week. He talked to students about the role of the Rural Crime Team and gave students advice on how best to protect their farms. It was an excellent presentation and highlighted both the role of the team and the career opportunities open to students within the police service. Thank you so much to PCSO Spencer Nixon for the visit and also to our friends at Bakewell Farming Life Centre for organising the visit.
