Following a week of special assemblies, students celebrated ‘European Day of Languages’ last Friday in school.  Quizzes were completed with students tasked with finding the school values and their translations around school, as well as a ‘Find someone who…’ and other language-based quizzes.

We had the school menus translated into the languages learned in school (French, German and Spanish), and there was a lunchtime competition in Languages Club to design a logo for next year’s European Day of Languages.

The highlight for many was our fabulous cake baking and decorating competition – students produced a fantastic array of cakes and bakes on the theme of ‘Europe’.  Congratulations to Year 7 student, Toby, for winning this competition with his wonderful European map cake!  The cakes were then sold off for charity and over £200 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.
