Careers Leader (closing date: 27 July 2021)
  • Grade 8 £23,250 to £25,128 per annum pro rata
  • 22.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
  • Working pattern to be negotiated
  • To start in September 2021
  • Interview date: w/c 9 August

This key role will lead on the management and delivery of careers and work-related learning activities. Duties will include:

  • Planning and delivering career information, advice and guidance to students in all year groups, including those with EHCPs
  • Producing an annual career guidance development plan to monitor the delivery of career guidance across the Gatsby Benchmarks
  • Organising events and activities such as apprenticeship week, encounters with employers, work experience, mock interviews

The ideal candidate will have a detailed understanding of work-related learning and careers education, have experience of providing advice and guidance to young people and be highly organised and able to meet deadlines.

You should have a Level 4 Diploma in Career Information and Advice or equivalent qualification and be willing to gain the Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Advice if not already held. Actual salary is £12,107 to £13,085 per annum.

Learning Mentor (Literacy) (closing date: 1 August 2021)
  • Grade 9 £25,753 to £27,629 per annum pro rata
  • 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
  • Working pattern 9.00 am to 3.30 pm Monday to Friday
  • To start in September 2021. Fixed term in the first instance to 31 July 2022, with the potential for the contract to become permanent

This exciting role was created in January 2021 to support students who have fallen behind as a result of extended school closure. We will be extending the post for another year with a focus on pupil premium students, and there could be the opportunity for a permanent contract.

The post will focus on supporting identified students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and possibly Key Stage 5 for the right candidate). Work will be both in class and in small withdrawal groups. The successful candidate will be supported by the English Department, and will need to be flexible, enthusiastic and passionate about literacy.

You should have excellent literacy skills and be able to work independently and as part of our team of teachers. Knowledge of the AQA GCSE English Language and Literature, plus AQA Step Up to English qualifications would be an advantage. Actual salary is £17,881 to £19,183 per annum.

PTFA Vacancies

Lady Manners School Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) currently has the following vacancies. All vacancies are voluntary roles and provide a great opportunity to have a direct impact on the educational experience your child will enjoy. There are many different roles and ways to support the school which require as little or as much time as you can give. Alternatively there are other ways to support the school by donating funds or prizes which will help with fundraising for the development of resources and facilities available to all students at Lady Manners School.

PTFA Secretary
We are looking for a Secretary to join the existing committee members. The role involves planning agendas and taking notes at meetings which take place 3 to 6 times per year. It can be combined with the role of PTFA Administrator.
PTFA Administrator
If you like dealing with email correspondence, we have the perfect role for you. We need someone to check the emails to the PTFA account on a regular basis and respond or forward to the relevant person as needed.
PTFA Volunteer Co-ordinator
Enthusiasm and communication skills are needed to co-ordinate the willing number of volunteers. The register needs to be kept up to date with current contact details and availability. Rotas are needed for some events.
PTFA External Funding Co-ordinator
We are looking for someone to complete and co-ordinate the applications for grants and awards that might be available. Ideas to attract funding would also be very helpful.
PTFA Vice Chair
This role needs someone to support the Chair and to deputise for them in their absence. It will involve attending meetings 3 to 6 times per year as well as attending some of the events to help promote the work of the PTFA.

Relief Support Services Assistant

Duties include clearing, preparing and serving food and supervising students. Experience of working in a similar role would be advantageous although full training will be provided. The rate of pay will be £9.43 per hour plus £1.37 per hour in lieu of annual leave/bank holidays.

Invigilator

Duties include assisting with the preparation of the examination room, supervising students during the examination and ensuring examinations run in accordance with rules and regulations. The rate of pay will be £9.62 per hour plus £1.39 per hour in lieu of annual leave/bank holidays.
