I have lived in Derbyshire in the Bakewell area for over twenty years, having moved to the county from Manchester just as my children were approaching school age. Since then, all three have been students at Lady Manners School and are now making their way in the world. I know that the school provided them with the perfect foundations on which to build successful lives and careers.
I am a Chartered Civil Engineer and work for Derbyshire County Council as the Service Director for Highways. My role is to lead and manage in-house and external resources to provide the safest and most reliable highway network for all its users.
I enjoy doing many different things with my spare time. If I'm outdoors I enjoy walking but if it's cold and wet, I'll probably retreat indoors where I dabble in DIY, art and playing the guitar.
I have been a governor at Lady Manners School for over fifteen years. Now the children are no longer students at the school I have relinquished my Parent Governor role, but am pleased to be the Duke of Rutland’s representative on the Governing Body.
