Originally from the north-west, born in Liverpool and educated in Widnes, after A Levels I went on to study History at University College, London. Having enjoyed and completed my History degree I then trained as a teacher and took the Postgraduate Certificate in Education at North Cheshire College, Padgate – specialising in History and Maths.
My first teaching posts were both in Cheshire at Great Sankey and then Sandbach. During this period I also studied part-time for an additional research degree in History at Manchester University. In 1991 I became Deputy Head at Morpeth in Northumberland and then in 1997 I gained my first Headship at King Edward VI School, Lichfield in Staffordshire.
Having arrived here in January 2006 it is an ongoing privilege to be working at Lady Manners School. There is always plenty to do and we remain determined to provide the best possible opportunities for all of our students.
