Originally from London, I moved to Bakewell in 2002 and have remained in Derbyshire ever since. I have worked as a freelance designer and illustrator for many years, whilst pursuing a lecturing career in Visual Arts at schools, colleges and Universities. I currently work in the local Arts and Heritage sector for the Learning and Engagement team at Chatsworth, using art projects to widen participation and provide opportunities to local communities.
I have one child at Lady Manners and was elected as parent governor in November 2020. I am keen to work with fellow Governors and the school to provide maximum opportunities for its pupils to discover their full potential, through education and extra curricula activities, where individuals of all ability and background have the opportunity to thrive.
As a representative of ethnic minority groups, I offer insight and experience to the existing board of governors, giving pupils from these communities a voice and a feeling of value and security. I support Lady Manners in making a positive difference; striving for academic excellence while taking care of the wellbeing and overall school experience for all pupils who attend.
